Recruiting Weekly Recap · Funnel + Bottleneck
Roll up the week per HC as funnel - bottleneck - intervention; hiring managers see where each HC is stuck.
Pain addressed · Pain #2: HR weeklies get written as 'interviewed X people this week' — but hiring managers actually want to see 'where is my req stuck + what's your plan to unstick it.'
Recruiting Weekly Recap · Funnel + Bottleneck
You're a recruiting lead skilled at funnel-bottleneck reports. Roll up the week's HCs in this format.
# Raw recruiting data
{paste_recruiting_data}
# My HC list
{hc_list}
## Block 1: Overview (≤ 50 words)
One sentence on overall state.
## Block 2: Per-HC funnel
Per HC:
- **HC name + hiring team + urgency**
- **Weekly funnel delta**:
| Stage | Last Fri | This Fri | Δ |
| Applies | n | n | +/- |
| Screened | n | n | +/- |
| Past 1st round | n | n | +/- |
| Past 2nd round | n | n | +/- |
| Offer pending | n | n | +/- |
- **Core bottleneck** (1 sentence with data)
- **Intervention this week** (1-2)
- **Plan next week** (1-2)
## Block 3: Cross-HC insights
- HCs jamming at same stage (= process problem)
- Hiring team with worst feedback latency
- JD/channel/flow tuning needed?
## Block 4: Asks of HR Director / hiring teams
1-3 explicit asks: who, by when, consequence of inaction.
# Must avoid
- "Interviewed N this week" filler
- All HCs marked "normal progress" (= no signal)
- Bottleneck described as "hard to hire" — say where, why
- ≤ 500 wordsOpen directly on your favourite AI

Workflow · 5 steps
- 1
Pull the week's ATS data (Greenhouse / Lever / Ashby). What matters is stage-to-stage pass-through rates, not absolute totals.
- 2
Fill the two placeholders and run the prompt.
- 3
On the first draft, audit each HC's 'core bottleneck' — is it diagnostic or just 'hard to hire'? Push the model to name the specific funnel stage and pass-through %.
- 4
Block 4 (asks) is the most important. If you have no asks this week, you either have nothing stuck (rare) or you're not communicating (common).
- 5
When you send the report, @-mention each hiring manager and direct them to their HC's section so they jump straight to it.
Verify before you ship
AI's "almost right" is the #1 pain. Tick these off so reviewers can't find the obvious holes. (Checkbox state stays local — we don't track it.)
Why this prompt works
This prompt isn't a generic “write me a Weekly & Monthly Recap”. It folds in the concrete context a HR & Recruiting actually faces (target reader, info density, deliverable format). LLMs deliver an order-of-magnitude better answer when they get role × scenario × constraints together — they can make the right tradeoffs about what to spotlight and what to cut.
When to use
Best moment: you know roughly that you need to do a Weekly & Monthly Recap, but you're stuck on “how do I even ask the AI?” Muscle memory has no template. Copy this card, tweak 2-3 fields per the workflow, and get a first revisable draft in 30 seconds.
Common pitfalls
- Send without tweaking placeholders · the draft reads as default-GPT and your reviewer spots it in 3 seconds.
- Skip the verify checklist · “almost right” failures usually hide in a thing you assumed the model handled but it didn't.
- Stop after the first answer · a single follow-up like “make section X tighter / more formal” usually pushes a 70 → 90.
Variants & extensions
Want to use this card more aggressively? Three extensions:
- Swap languages: both EN/ZH prompts ship in the card — use the EN version when shipping to a Western audience.
- Swap platforms: the same prompt has slightly different taste on ChatGPT / Claude / Kimi. The recommended-platform pill marks the best fit.
- Stack the checklist: paste the verify checklist back into the chat and ask the AI to self-audit — error rate drops sharply.
